Delhi Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour Package 2 Days is where you visit 2 of the most pious destinations in India (Mathura, Vrindavan) and the most famous monument in India (Taj Mahal) over a single weekend. The right planning would ensure that you visit each of the destinations at the optimal time, capture all the temple darshan windows, and reach back to Delhi without a moment of time lost. Poor planning means Agra on day 1 and Mathura on day 2, running against the traffic and spending 60% of your time in the car.
I am Gurudutt. Born and bred in Braj Bhoomi, and Founder of Experience My India. Since 2018, I have myself driven over 50000+ pilgrims on the exact same route: Delhi to Mathura, Vrindavan and then Agra. And I have seen the same mistakes committed over and over on every tour that goes south: Wrong Day Sequence, Banke Bihari visiting at 2 PM and finding it shut, booking a hotel 8 km from the temple belt, and wrong estimates of drive from Vrindavan to Agra
Here is everything that goes in: An accurate day by day itinerary, realistic drive times, reliable temple timings for 2025-2026, detailed cost estimate and on the ground realities not put in writing by most of the operators. By the time you reach the end, you will have your plan ready, or can contact Experience My India on +91-7302265809, 7300620809 and leave everything on us starting from 4,999..
Why a 2-Day Delhi Mathura Vrindavan Agra Trip Works
These 3 places-Mathura/Vrindavan and Agra lie along a naturally formed linear route beside the Yamuna river with Delhi being the initial and final point. The route is correct as :
145 kms from Delhi to Mathura which takes about 2.5-3 hrs by car on the NH19 (Yamuna Expressway).
12 Kms from Mathura to Vrindavan which takes about 30-40 minutes by e-rickshaw or a car.
68 Kms from Vrindavan to Agra which takes about 1.5-2 hrs by car on the NH19.
233 Kms from Agra to Delhi which takes about 3.5-4 hours by car via the Yamuna Expressway.
So, the two days will logically have Mathura and Vrindavan on day one and Agra on day two because of darshan timings. While the Mathura Vrindavan temples are most beautiful in the mornings between 6 AM and 12 PM, the Taj is the most beautiful during mornings of Day 2 before the afternoon heat sets in. A reverse journey would make you drive from Delhi to Agra in the morning of day 1 thus making you miss the best window for Mathura temples.
Experience My India, the tour operator structures all the Delhi Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour Packages around this flow and that is why pilgrims on our tours cover the whole circuit without missing a single darshan. Dial +91-7302265809, 7300620809 if you wish to discuss this routing before your trip.

Day 1 Itinerary — Delhi to Mathura Vrindavan
Departure from Delhi: 5:00 AM
Leave Delhi between 5- 5:30 to reach Mathura by 8:30 before traffic jams start in the Yamuna expressway. Reach the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple when the initial rush has settled.
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Mathura Darshan
Dwarkadhish Temple, 1.2 km from Janmabhoomi - Mathura is one of the more active temples and it opens for morning darshan up to 12:30 pm. The main idol is always decorated lavishly. Spend 30-45 min including shoe counter
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Travel to Vrindavan + Lunch + Rest
Vishram Ghat, 600 metres from Dwarkadhish- The pious ghat on river Yamuna where Lord Krishna is believed to have taken rest after defeating Kansa. Visit this ghat for 15 minutes, to give the Mathura part of the trip, it's spiritual context.Optional boating on Yamuna (50-80/pp) takes 20 mins
4:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Vrindavan Darshan
Banke Bihari Temple — Opens at 5:30 PM in summer, 4:30 PM in winter for evening darshan. This is the most visited temple in Vrindavan. The curtain opens and closes every few minutes in a ritual unique to this temple. On weekdays, the queue is 30–60 minutes; on weekends, 90–150 minutes. Photography is completely prohibited inside.
Prem Mandir — 1.5 km from Banke Bihari. Opens for evening darshan at 4:30 PM. The marble architecture and light show (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM) make this the visual centrepiece of any Vrindavan visit. Allow 45–60 minutes for both the darshan and the light show.
Radha Raman Temple or ISKCON — If time permits after Prem Mandir. Radha Raman is one of Vrindavan's most revered temples with a 450-year-old deity. ISKCON is well-suited for families and first-time visitors.
Overnight stay: Hotel near Banke Bihari Road, Vrindavan. This is the zone Experience My India recommends for all Mathura Vrindavan tour packages — it puts you walking distance from the temples and cuts 60–90 minutes of morning transit on Day 2.
Day 2 Itinerary — Vrindavan to Agra to Delhi
6:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Morning Darshan in Vrindavan (Optional but Recommended)
ISKCON's Mangala Aarti begins at 4:30 AM — the most intimate darshan experience on this entire tour. For those who did not attend the evening before, the morning session (opens 4:30 AM) is quieter and spiritually more settled than the evening. If you skip the extra morning stop, use this window for hotel breakfast and departure preparation.
8:00 AM: Departure from Vrindavan to Agra
The Vrindavan → Agra drive (68 km) takes 1.5–2 hours. Arrive in Agra between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM — this is the correct window for Taj Mahal entry. The monument gets crowded after 11:00 AM, and afternoon light is harsh for photography.
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Agra Darshan
Taj Mahal — Entry fee: ₹1,100 for Indian nationals, ₹1,300 for foreign nationals (2026 rates). Allow 90 minutes minimum. The monument is closed on Fridays. Shoe covers are provided at the gate and must be worn. All large bags must be deposited at the cloak room.
Agra Fort — 2.5 km from Taj Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1565 by Emperor Akbar. Entry fee: ₹600 for Indian nationals. Contains Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, and the Musamman Burj from which Shah Jahan reportedly gazed at the Taj Mahal in his final years. Allow 60 minutes.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch in Agra + Optional Stop
Mughlai cuisine at Agra's restaurants near Taj Ganj is the standard recommendation. If time allows, a 30-minute stop at Mehtab Bagh (₹300 entry, Indian nationals) gives a direct view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River — the best sunset photography spot on this route.
2:30 PM / 3:00 PM: Departure from Agra to Delhi
Agra to Delhi via Yamuna Expressway: 233 km, 3.5–4.5 hours depending on day of week. Weekend evenings (Sunday 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM) see the heaviest return traffic into Delhi. Departing by 2:30 PM avoids the worst oit. Estimated Delhi arrival: 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM.

Peak (best overall) | October – March | 8°C – 25°C | Best for all 3 cities. Full temple timings, comfortable walking. Book 4–6 weeks in advance. |
Shoulder (good) | September, late March | 20°C – 32°C | Good with morning-only Agra visit before 11 AM. |
Summer (manageable) | April – June | 38°C – 45°C | Restrict temple visits to before 11:00 AM and after 5:00 PM. Avoid Agra 11 AM – 4 PM. |

Ground Truth — What Nobody Tells You Before You Book
After 12 years and 50,000+ pilgrims on this exact route, here are the specific realities that most online tour guides do not say out loud:
1. The correct day sequence saves 3–4 hours. Mathura → Vrindavan on Day 1, Agra on Day 2 is the only sequence that respects both the temple darshan calendar and the traffic pattern. Agra on Day 1 means arriving in Mathura at 4:00 PM, finding most temples closed, and losing your entire evening darshan window.
2. The Vrindavan to Agra drive is the most underestimated leg. Most itineraries say "1.5 hours." In reality, leaving Vrindavan between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM means navigating narrow lanes inside Vrindavan's old town first — add 30–45 minutes before you even reach the main highway. Budget 2.5 hours total for a comfortable arrival.
3. Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. This is stated on the ASI website, but a surprising number of pilgrims book Delhi to Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour packages that land in Agra on a Friday without checking. If your Day 2 falls on a Friday, the Taj Mahal will not be accessible.
4. Shoe counters and security checks add 30–60 minutes per stop. Between Krishna Janmabhoomi security (mandatory mobile phone deposit), Banke Bihari shoe counter, and Taj Mahal bag check, you will spend 90–120 minutes total just on security and shoe logistics across the 2-day tour. This does not appear in any standard itinerary. Plan for it explicitly.
5. Three darshans per city is the right depth. Pilgrims who try to add Govardhan Hill, Nandgaon, and Barsana into a 2-day itinerary consistently miss the Agra stops or arrive at Vrindavan temples after closing time. For Govardhan, Nandgaon, and Barsana, the correct format is our 5-Day Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour Package — not a weekend trip.
Call +91-7302265809, 7300620809 and speak directly with Gurudutt. We will tell you what is happening in Braj on your specific travel dates — festival overlaps, temple closures, and Agra crowd forecasts.
Know Before You Plan
Before booking your Delhi Mathura Vrindavan Agra tour, here are a few things our Experience My India team has learned after guiding thousands of pilgrims on this exact route:
Day sequence matters more than distance — Mathura first, Agra last is the only sequence that works with the darshan calendar and traffic rhythm on this route.
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays — check your calendar before confirming Day 2 dates.
Temple timings are not fixed year-round — they shift by 45–90 minutes between summer and winter, and change further during festival periods. Always confirm the morning of your visit.
Vrindavan's lanes are narrower than any map shows — no private car can reach Banke Bihari Temple. E-rickshaws are the only option inside the old temple belt.
Krishna Janmabhoomi security requires surrendering all electronics — plan accordingly and carry only a small cloth bag.
Your hotel zone directly affects your Day 1 evening — staying near Banke Bihari Road saves 60–90 minutes of transit and ensures you reach the temple before the evening darshan rush.
A Braj-born guide changes the experience qualitatively — the difference between standing in the wrong queue for 40 minutes and walking directly to darshan is local knowledge, not luck.
At Experience My India, we plan every itinerary around the actual rhythm of Braj — call +91-7302265809, 7300620809 before you finalise anything.
