The Birla Mandir opens for a morning and an afternoon to evening darshan each day, with a midday break and the hours shift a little between the summer and the winter, as the box above and the tables below set out. Festivals at Birla Mandir

The Birla Mandir is at its most joyful and colourful on the great festivals, when it is decked with lights and flowers and special programmes are held. Location and how to reach Birla Mandir

The Birla Mandir stands at Garravkendra, on the Vrindavan road in Mathura, in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, pin code 281003, on the well connected road between Mathura and Vrindavan, so that it is easily reached from both. It lies about seven kilometres from Mathura Junction, the nearest railway station, well connected across the country, about an hour from Agra and three to four hours from Delhi by the Yamuna Expressway; the nearest airport is Agra, about sixty kilometres away or Delhi, about a hundred and fifty. From Mathura Junction an auto rickshaw, taxi or local bus reaches the temple easily. It is well placed to be seen with the other temples of Mathura or on the way to or from Vrindavan. When to visit

The cool months of October to March are the most comfortable for a visit, pleasant for walking the temple and its gardens and within the day the morning and the evening aarti are the loveliest and most devotional times. Gita Jayanti, in the early winter, is especially fitting here, in the temple of the Gita. The peak summer of May and June is very hot, so carry water and favour the cool season and the early hours.
