Day 1

Day 2

Mathura and Gokul

Krishna Janmabhoomi, Dwarkadhish, Vishram Ghat, Nand Bhavan, Raman Reti, Brahmand Ghat

Day one: Vrindavan

Begin day one early in Vrindavan, because the morning is when the temples are calmest. Start at Banke Bihari at its morning opening, the beloved heart of the town, then walk the old lanes to the quieter Goswami temples. Give the late morning to ISKCON's calm compound before the midday closure, then rest and eat. In the evening, take Prem Mandir as the light fades and its marble begins to glow and end at Keshi Ghat by the Yamuna. If time allows, add Nidhivan within its open hours. Our guide to Banke Bihari covers its timings and the calm way in and our guide to the places to visit in Vrindavan covers the full list if you want to adjust.

Day two: Mathura and Gokul

Day two follows the story to its beginning. Start in Mathura at the Krishna Janmabhoomi, the birthplace of Krishna, then the grand Dwarkadhish Temple and the sacred Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna. Give Mathura the morning, then cross to Gokul, about fifteen kilometres away, for the afternoon and evening: Nand Bhavan, the home of Nanda; Raman Reti, the sacred sand where the child played; and Brahmand Ghat, where Yashoda saw the universe in his mouth, with its quiet evening Yamuna aarti. Our guide to Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura covers the birthplace and our Gokul Guide  covers the Gokul childhood sites in full.

How to make the two days work

The single trick that makes two days flow is respecting the temple hours. The temples of Braj open early, close through the middle of the day and open again in the evening, so plan your darshan for the morning and the evening and keep the midday closure for travel, food and rest. Reach the busiest temples, especially Banke Bihari, at their morning opening on a weekday for the calmest darshan. Keep each day unhurried; it is better to cover the important places well than to chase every last one. Our Mathura Vrindavan taxi service covers the travel between the towns so your two days stay smooth.

If you have one day, or three

If you have only one day, you must choose the essentials of both towns and accept the pace; our one day step by step travel plan shows how. If you can give three days, add the wider Braj of Govardhan and Barsana, or Agra and the Taj, to this two day core. Our honest guide to how many days you really need helps you decide and the best time to visit Mathura Vrindavan helps you pick your season.

The honest bit

Cover these places with the truth. Every temple in Mathura, Vrindavan and Gokul is free; no one should charge you to enter or for a special darshan and there is no official VIP darshan pass for Banke Bihari. Banke Bihari has no daily Mangala Aarti, only rare festival days, while ISKCON holds a genuine one each morning. Govardhan, if you add it, is circled and never climbed. The Yamuna at the ghats is deeply revered and, honestly, polluted. Knowing these truths lets you cover the important places as they really are.

Why Experience My India is the right choice

I was born in Gokul Mahaban Bangar and I have guided Braj since 2018: more than 50,000 pilgrims, 4.5 stars across 204 Google reviews. We WhatsApp first, 8 AM to 9 PM daily. Two days done well is an art of timing and it is exactly what a Braj born guide brings: the right temple at the right hour, the important places covered without the rush and not a rupee lost to a tout. We build your two days around the hours, as one clear number with no hidden charges.

Tip from Gurudutt: do not try to squeeze Vrindavan and Mathura into the same day of a two day trip. Give each its own day. The whole point of two days is to cover the important places calmly and mixing the towns each day only brings back the rush you came to avoid.
