By train. Several direct trains connect Ahmedabad with Mathura Junction, taking roughly twelve to sixteen hours, usually overnight. By flight. The fastest way is to fly from Ahmedabad to Delhi, about an hour and a half and then drive about 150 kilometres south to Mathura and Vrindavan on the Yamuna Expressway. By bus or road. Long distance buses and self drive cover roughly 950 kilometres in about sixteen to eighteen hours, but it is tiring over such a distance. For most, the train or the flight is far better.

However you arrive, the tour itself is the heart of it. Because the journey is long, give the trip at least two or three days on the ground so it does not feel rushed. A good shape is to travel up overnight, spend a first day in Vrindavan, a second in Mathura and Gokul and a third for the wider Braj of Govardhan and Barsana before travelling home. Banke Bihari has no daily Mangala Aarti, only rare festival days, while ISKCON holds a genuine one.
