I am Gurudutt, born in Gokul, in the heart of Braj, guiding travellers and pilgrims since 2018: more than 50,000 of them. A Mathura Vrindavan Agra tour is a wonderful sweep, from Krishna's temples to the Taj, but with so much to see, the question is always the same: what are the top places I must cover? Here is my honest checklist, town by town, so you miss nothing that matters. To have them all arranged in the right order, See durations and prices and book, on our Mathura Vrindavan Tour Package page. message us on WhatsApp at +91 7302265809, any day from 8 AM to 9 PM.

Mathura: the top places

Mathura is the birthplace of Krishna and its top place is the Krishna Janmabhoomi, standing on the site of the prison of Kansa where he was born. Add the grand Dwarkadhish Temple, built in 1814, the town’s principal shrine and Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna, loveliest at the evening aarti. All are free. For the fuller list, our top places to visit in Mathura guide has more.

Vrindavan: the top places

Vrindavan, the town of Krishna’s childhood, is the richest in top places. First and most beloved is Banke Bihari, best at the dawn opening. Add the marble Prem Mandir, magical after dark; the calm ISKCON Krishna Balaram compound; and the atmospheric grove of Nidhivan. All darshan is free. For the complete roster, see our places to visit in Vrindavan guide.

Agra: the top places

Agra, only about 60 kilometres from Mathura, brings the Mughal wonders. Its top place needs no introduction: the Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan for Mumtaz Mahal, at its most beautiful in the soft morning light. Add the red sandstone Agra Fort nearby. Two honest points: the Taj is ticketed, best booked ahead and it is closed every Friday, so never plan your Agra day on a Friday.

How to cover them all

The top places sit in a line, so a good tour covers them in order. Two to three days is ideal: a day or two for the Braj temples of Mathura and Vrindavan and a day for Agra and the Taj. A private car ties them together; our Mathura Vrindavan taxi service covers the whole route. Start each day early, for the calm morning darshan and the Taj at dawn and keep the midday temple closure for travel and rest.

The best time to cover them

The cool months of October to March are the most comfortable for all three towns, with clear light for the Taj and pleasant days for the temples. Kartik in autumn is the most devotional season in Braj and the festivals are magnificent but very crowded. Whichever you choose, avoid Fridays for Agra. Our guide to the best time to visit Mathura Vrindavan lays out the seasons.

The honest bit

Covering the top places honestly means one clear rule: everything in Mathura and Vrindavan is free and only the Taj is ticketed. No one should charge you for darshan or sell you a VIP pass, for there is no official VIP pass for Banke Bihari. Banke Bihari has no daily Mangala Aarti, only rare festival days, while ISKCON holds a genuine one. The Yamuna is revered and, honestly, polluted. The Taj alone is paid and closed on Fridays. Told plainly, the tour is exactly what it promises.

Why Experience My India is the right choice

I was born in Gokul Mahaban Bangar and I have guided this route since 2018: more than 50,000 travellers, 4.5 stars across 204 Google reviews. We WhatsApp first, 8 AM to 9 PM daily. Covering the top places well is a matter of order and timing, the right place at the right hour, past the crowds and the touts and that is our home ground. We plan the tour so you miss nothing and rush nothing. Our car is clean and air conditioned, our fare one clear number with the Taj ticket and toll named separately.

Tip from Gurudutt: cover the Braj temples before Agra, not after. Ending at the Taj gives you a serene, beautiful finish and starting in the temple grounds the whole tour in devotion first.
