📌 QUICK ANSWER

Prem Mandir in Vrindavan has a dedicated, free on-site parking area on Raman Reti Road (Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg), on the eastern side of the campus, for both cars and two-wheelers. It is free of charge; only nearby third-party or overflow lots may charge small fees (about ₹30 for two-wheelers, ₹100 for cars). The on-site lot fills quickly after 6 PM on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, when you may park 300 to 400 m away or at the Rukmini Vihar multi-level facility. Entry to the temple is free; it is open 5:30 AM to 12 noon and 4:30 to 8:30 PM, with the light show each evening (closed Thursdays). To visit stress-free with a local host, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.

Good news for anyone driving to the magnificent Prem Mandir in Vrindavan: unlike the old-town temples, Prem Mandir has its own dedicated, free, on-site parking, right at the temple campus, for both cars and two-wheelers. So you can drive straight up and park for free, the only real catch being that the lot fills quickly on weekend evenings, when you may need a nearby overflow lot. Here, from one born in Braj, is the complete guide to Prem Mandir parking: where to park, the charges (or lack of them), the temple timings, the famous evening light show and the rules. Plan your visit with our Mathura Vrindavan tour packages.

Key takeaways

  • Prem Mandir has its own dedicated, free on-site parking for cars and two-wheelers.

  • The lot is on Raman Reti Road (Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg), on the eastern side of the campus.

  • It is free; only nearby overflow or private lots may charge about ₹30 (two-wheeler) / ₹100 (car).

  • The on-site lot fills quickly after 6 PM on weekends and holidays; use overflow lots or Rukmini Vihar then.

  • Temple entry is free; open 5:30 AM to 12 noon and 4:30 to 8:30 PM.

  • The evening musical-fountain light show runs daily (around 7 to 8 PM), but is closed on Thursdays.

I am Gurudutt, born in Gokul in the Mathura district, guiding pilgrims through Braj since 2018, more than 50,000 of them and I bring guests to Prem Mandir constantly, especially for the evening light show. The parking here is far easier than at the old-town temples, but the weekend-evening rush catches people out; here is everything you need to park, time your visit and see Prem Mandir at its best.

Prem Mandir on-site parking: free and right at the temple

Unlike the Banke Bihari temple and the other shrines of the old lanes, Prem Mandir is a large, modern temple campus set in its own grounds and it has a dedicated parking area right on site, on the eastern side of the campus, reached via Raman Reti Road (also called Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg). Best of all, this on-site parking is free of charge, for both four-wheelers and two-wheelers; you drive straight up and park at the temple. This makes Prem Mandir one of the easiest of all the Vrindavan temples to reach by car, a welcome relief after the walk-in temples of the old town.

Prem Mandir parking charges and overflow lots

Here are the parking options for Prem Mandir, with their charges.

Parking

Details

Charges

Prem Mandir on-site lot

Dedicated campus parking, eastern side, on Raman Reti Road

Free

Nearby overflow / roadside

Designated roadside areas 300-400 m away (peak times)

Free or small fee

Third-party / commercial lots

Private outer lots nearby

About ₹30 (two-wheeler) / ₹100 (car)

Rukmini Vihar multi-level

Secure multi-level facility nearby

Nominal (multi-level rates)

Prem Mandir parking options and charges. The on-site lot is free; charges on others are approximate and change.

So the on-site campus lot is free and should be your first choice. Only if it is full or if you park in an outer commercial lot, will you pay a small fee (around ₹30 for a two-wheeler or ₹100 for a car). The nearby Rukmini Vihar multi-level parking, which also serves the Banke Bihari side, is a secure overflow option.

The weekend-evening rush: when the lot fills

Here is the one thing to plan around. The dedicated on-site lot, generous as it is, fills up quickly after about 6:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays and major holidays, precisely the popular time, when everyone comes for the evening light show. At these peak hours, you should expect to park 300 to 400 metres away, along the designated roadside areas or at a nearby multi-level facility like Rukmini Vihar and walk the short distance in. To avoid this entirely, come a little earlier on weekend evenings, before 6 PM or visit on a quieter weekday, when the on-site lot is easy.

Prem Mandir timings and entry

Entry to Prem Mandir is completely free for all visitors, with no tickets required, the whole temple, gardens and light show cost nothing. The temple is open daily in two sessions:

  • Morning: 5:30 AM to 12:00 noon.

  • Evening: 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

  • It is closed through the midday, like most Vrindavan temples, so plan around that.

The beautiful marble temple, built by Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with its carvings of Krishna's leelas and its gardens, is worth time in both the day and the evening; see our guide to the Prem Mandir temple itself.

The Prem Mandir light show (musical fountain) timing

The highlight of a Prem Mandir visit and the reason so many come in the evening, is the spectacular light show: the whole white-marble temple is lit in slowly changing colours, with a musical fountain, a breathtaking sight. It is held every evening, but the exact start time shifts with the season:

  • Winter: typically starts around 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

  • Summer: typically starts around 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

  • Closed on Thursdays: the light show does not run on Thursdays, though regular darshan stays open.

  • Confirm the exact timing on the day, as it varies and can change on festivals.

Because the light show draws the biggest evening crowds, this is exactly when the parking fills, so time your arrival for the show but reach a little before the rush. To see the lights, come any evening except Thursday.

Prem Mandir rules: dress code and belongings

A few simple rules, so your visit is smooth:

  • Dress code: modest, traditional attire covering the shoulders and knees is recommended out of respect for the premises.

  • Mobile phones and photography: phones are allowed in the campus for photography in the designated outdoor garden areas, but strict rules apply inside the main sanctum, so follow the signs and staff.

  • Prohibited: leather items, smoking and non-vegetarian food or alcohol are strictly not allowed on the premises.

  • Shoes: leave footwear at the designated counters before entering the temple.

The honest bit

Honest words from one born in Braj. Prem Mandir is one of the easiest Vrindavan temples to visit by car, thanks to its free on-site parking, a real relief after the walk-in old-town shrines. The only genuine catch is the weekend-evening rush for the light show, when the lot fills after 6 PM and you may have to park a few hundred metres away, so simply come a little earlier or on a weekday. Entry is free, so pay no one for 'tickets' or 'passes', there are none. The timings and the light-show start shift with the season and can change on festivals, so treat the times here as a guide and confirm on the day and remember the show is closed on Thursdays. Planned around the evening and the crowds, Prem Mandir by light is one of the most beautiful sights in all of Braj.

Why Experience My India is the right choice

I was born in Gokul in the Mathura district and I bring guests to Prem Mandir and its light show all the time, so I know its parking, timings and the best hour to come. Guiding since 2018, more than 50,000 pilgrims, 4.5 stars on Google, WhatsApp first, 8 AM to 9 PM daily. We drive you to the parking, time your visit to catch the light show without the worst of the rush, take you on to the other temples of Vrindavan and look after families and elders, with a local's knowledge and no touts. One clear fare and never a charge for free darshan.

Tip from Gurudutt: for the best of Prem Mandir, come in the late afternoon of a weekday, not a weekend. Arrive while the on-site parking is still easy and free, walk the gardens and the marble temple in the soft evening light and then, as dusk falls, watch the whole temple bloom into colour with the musical fountain, the Prem Mandir light show, without the weekend crush. Just remember: any evening but Thursday. Timed this way, Prem Mandir gives you free parking, a free entry and one of the most beautiful free spectacles in India, all in one serene evening.

Banke Bihari Temple Parking: Where to Park, Charges and How to Reach the Shrine

Private cars cannot enter the old lanes near the Banke Bihari temple, so you park on the outer edge and complete the last stretch by e-rickshaw and on foot (the final about 300 metres are pedestrian-only). The main options are the Rukmini Vihar multi-level parking (automated, FASTag, about ₹60 for 4 hours, with e-rickshaws and golf carts from there) and outer lots like Vidyapeeth Chauraha, the Tourist Facilitation Centre and near Prem Mandir (private lots about ₹100 for cars for 4 hours). Arrive before 8:30 AM, especially on weekends. General darshan is free; there are no official VIP passes. To be driven and guided stress-free, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.
