📌 QUICK ANSWER

The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir on Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg is open daily in two sessions, morning and evening, with entry completely free, and it follows the full ISKCON aarti schedule beginning with Mangala Aarti before dawn. One honest caution: the 700 foot tower you have seen in renderings is still under construction and does not stand yet, so come for the darshan and the aarti, not for the skyscraper. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.

Key takeaways

  • Open daily in two sessions, morning and evening, with a midday closure. Entry is free.

  • The full ISKCON aarti schedule runs from Mangala Aarti before dawn to Shayana Darshan at night.

  • Address: Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh 281121.

  • Unlike Banke Bihari, this ISKCON temple does hold a genuine daily Mangala Aarti.

  • The planned 700 foot tower is still under construction. Come for the darshan, not the rendering.

I am Gurudutt, born in Gokul, in the heart of Braj, guiding pilgrims since 2018. The Chandrodaya Mandir is the temple visitors ask me about most and understand least, because the internet shows them a 700 foot skyscraper that does not yet exist while failing to tell them the simple, useful things: when it opens, what the aarti schedule is, and that it costs nothing to enter. This guide gives you both, the practical facts first and the honest status second. Plan your Braj yatra with our Mathura Vrindavan tour package or message WhatsApp +91 7302265809.

Timings and entry

The temple is open every day of the week in two sessions, a morning session and an evening session, with a closure through the middle of the day. Entry is completely free, as it is at every genuine temple in Braj.

The full aarti schedule

As an ISKCON temple, the Chandrodaya Mandir follows the full daily aarti cycle, and it begins long before the general visiting hours do. If the aartis are what you have come for, and for many devotees they are, plan around this schedule rather than the visiting window.

The Mangala Aarti point that matters

Here is a distinction that will save you from being cheated elsewhere in Braj, and almost nobody explains it properly. This temple, like all ISKCON temples, holds a genuine daily Mangala Aarti before dawn. It happens every single morning, and you may attend it. But Banke Bihari, the most beloved temple in Vrindavan, does not hold a daily Mangala Aarti at all: there, it happens only on rare festival days. Touts exploit exactly this confusion, selling visitors a paid daily Mangala Aarti darshan at Banke Bihari that does not exist. So hold both facts: at ISKCON temples, daily Mangala Aarti is real and free to attend. At Banke Bihari, it is not daily, and anyone charging you for one is lying to you. Our banke bihari vip darshan truth page sets out that scam in full.

Address and how to reach

The address is Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg, Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh 281121. It sits on the newer side of Vrindavan rather than in the old town lanes, which means a car can reach it easily, unlike the temples of the old belt. From anywhere in Vrindavan it is a short ride by car, auto or e rickshaw. From Mathura Junction it is the usual hop to Vrindavan of about 12 to 13 km. From Delhi it is the standard journey to Braj of about 160 km, with an honest travel time of three hours or more once traffic is counted. Our mathura vrindavan distance guide has the full road figures, and our delhi to vrindavan tour package guide covers the route in.

What you can actually visit today

This is the part no other page will give you honestly. The campus is a living, functioning devotional site right now: deities are worshipped, the full aarti cycle runs daily, kirtans and programmes are held, festivals are celebrated, and there is a gaushala on the site where cows are cared for, cow protection being central to the project's philosophy. All of that is real and available to you today, and all of it is free. What is not available is the thing the photographs promise: the 700 foot tower, the capsule elevator, the viewing decks over the Braj plain, the twelve recreated forests. Those are the plan. Come for the aarti and the darshan and the cows, and you will have a genuinely good morning. Come for the skyscraper, and you will be confused.

The honest construction status

The Chandrodaya Mandir has been under construction since its foundation stone was laid in 2014, and completion has been announced, and revised, more than once. You will find pages confidently stating that it was finished in 2022, or 2024, or 2025, and each of those dates has passed. I am not going to add another date to that list, because I would only be making myself one more page that misleads pilgrims. What I will tell you is this: it is not finished, nobody can tell you with certainty when it will be, and you should verify the current status on the official ISKCON Bangalore project site before you travel if the building itself is your reason for coming. This is not a criticism of the project. Great temples take generations; the ones I grew up among certainly did. It is simply the truth a pilgrim needs before they plan.

The planned height and scale

The plan is extraordinary, and worth understanding even in its unfinished state. The temple is designed to rise to around 700 feet, roughly 210 metres, which would make it the tallest religious monument in the world. The campus is planned with twelve gardens named for the twelve forests of Braj, a heritage museum, viewing decks and a capsule elevator carrying visitors above the Braj plain. It is being built by devotees of ISKCON Bangalore, in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition that Bengal gave to Braj, inspired by Srila Prabhupada's vision that Vrindavan should speak to the modern world. Brajwasis are honestly divided about a skyscraper in a land of ancient groves, and I will not pretend otherwise, but the devotion behind it is real and I will not mock it. For the temples that have stood here for centuries, see our mathura vrindavan darshan guide.

Should you include it in your trip?

My honest counsel. With two days in Braj, skip it: two days is barely enough for Banke Bihari, Krishna Janmabhoomi, Prem Mandir and Gokul, and each of those will give you more. With three days or more, yes, give it a morning, and take the aarti rather than a walk around a building site. For devotees in the ISKCON or Gaudiya tradition it is worth more than that, because the campus is a living centre of your own sampradaya. And if you are returning to Braj having seen it before, it is genuinely interesting to watch this thing rise. Our mathura vrindavan itinerary guide shows what deserves your days, and our how to plan a mathura vrindavan trip guide covers the wider planning.

Honest notes before you go

  • Entry is free. There is no ticket and no pass. Anyone charging you for entry or priority is a tout.

  • The aarti schedule starts before dawn, earlier than the published visiting hours. Confirm which aartis are open to visitors.

  • The daily Mangala Aarti here is genuine. At Banke Bihari, there is no daily Mangala Aarti; do not pay anyone who claims otherwise.

  • The 700 foot tower is not built. The renderings are the plan, not the present.

  • A car can reach this temple, unlike most of the old town temples. It suits elderly visitors for that reason.

  • Timings and access can change on festival days and as construction progresses. Verify before travelling.

Why Experience My India is the right choice

I was born in Gokul Mahaban Bangar and I have guided Braj since 2018: more than 50,000 pilgrims, 4.5 stars across 204 Google reviews. We are WhatsApp first, 8 AM to 9 PM daily. On this temple we give you what no brochure will: the real timings, the real aarti schedule, the honest state of the construction, and a straight answer about whether it deserves a slot in your particular trip. Sometimes that answer is no, and we say so even when a longer itinerary would earn us more. To see options, visit our Mathura Vrindavan Tours.

Tip from Gurudutt: if you come here, come for the Mangala Aarti, in the dark before dawn. The campus is quiet, the chanting fills it, the cows are stirring in the gaushala, and there is no crowd and no construction noise, only devotion. Then drive on and take your Banke Bihari darshan as the town wakes. That is a morning worth crossing the country for, and it costs you nothing but an early alarm.

"We booked a 3-day Mathura Vrindavan tour with Experience My India, and visiting Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir during the early morning aarti turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. Gurudutt Ji planned our entire route so well that we attended the Mangala Aarti here and later reached Banke Bihari at the perfect time. Our driver was punctual, polite and knew every shortcut. Everything happened exactly as promised."

"We had only two days in Braj, so every hour mattered. Experience My India planned our itinerary around actual temple timings instead of simply listing attractions. We attended the morning aarti at Chandrodaya Mandir, visited Prem Mandir in the evening and reached every temple during darshan hours. Our driver was always before time, making the entire journey completely stress-free."

"We were travelling with elderly parents and wanted a calm spiritual trip. Gurudutt Ji recommended visiting Chandrodaya Mandir because it was easily accessible by car and less crowded during the early morning hours. It was the perfect suggestion. The driver was extremely helpful, the hotel was comfortable and every arrangement was handled professionally. We couldn't have asked for a better pilgrimage experience."

Shri Radha Raman Temple Vrindavan: The Self Manifested Deity, Timings and History

Shri Radha Raman Temple in Vrindavan, established in 1542 by Gopala Bhatta Goswami, is one of the seven principal Goswami temples of the town, and its deity is swayambhu, self manifested from a shaligram stone rather than carved. It holds a unique place in history: it is the only one of the seven original Vrindavan deities that was never moved away during Aurangzeb's time, so it has stayed in unbroken worship on this spot for nearly five centuries. Entry and darshan are completely free. The temple kitchen fire, lit at the founding, has never gone out. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.

Seva Kunj: The Grove Where Krishna Served Radha, by a Braj Born Guide

Seva Kunj, also called Nikunj Van, is the sacred grove in Vrindavan where Shri Krishna is believed to have served Radha Rani after the raas: pressing her feet, braiding her hair and adorning her, which is why it is called the garden of service. It is open daily in a morning session and an evening session, entry is free, and like Nidhivan it closes after the evening aarti, because Brajwasis hold that the divine couple remain here through the night. Tatiya Sthan is an ashram of the Haridasi sampradaya in Vrindavan with no electricity, no photography and no mobile phones, open daily in a late morning and an evening session, where the traditional samaj gayan is sung in the early evening. Entry is free. Because there is no electricity, the evening session carries on past sunset by lamplight, and that is the hour worth coming for. Come in silence, walk barefoot on the white sand, and understand you are a guest in someone's life, not a visitor to an attraction. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.
