📌 QUICK ANSWER

The distance from Noida to Vrindavan is about 138 km by road, taking roughly 2 hours by car on the Yamuna Expressway. It is the fastest and simplest route into Braj from the NCR, since the expressway begins right at Greater Noida and runs almost to the Vrindavan exit. It is short enough for an easy day trip. Whichever way you come, the last leg into Vrindavan is only about 30 minutes from Mathura. To arrange a car and your Vrindavan darshan, call or WhatsApp +91 7302265809.

Noida, the planned city on Delhi's south-eastern edge, sits closer to Braj than almost anywhere in the NCR, right at the head of the Yamuna Expressway that runs straight down to Mathura and Vrindavan. For Noida and Greater Noida families, a darshan of Banke Bihari is an easy morning's drive, one of the simplest pilgrimages from the capital region. Here is how to make the journey, whichever way suits you. Plan your visit with our Mathura Vrindavan tour packages.

Key takeaways

  • Noida to Vrindavan is about 138 km by road, roughly 2 hours by car.

  • The quickest route runs straight down the Yamuna Expressway, about 138 km in around 2 hours.

  • The expressway begins at Greater Noida, so Noida has the smoothest access to Braj in the whole NCR.

  • It is one of the shortest drives into Braj, easily a same-day darshan from Noida.

  • By train, travel from nearby Delhi stations to Mathura Junction, then about 30 minutes to Vrindavan.

  • The last leg, Mathura to Vrindavan, is only about 12 to 15 km, around 30 minutes.

I am Gurudutt, born in Gokul in the Mathura district, guiding pilgrims through Braj since 2018, more than 50,000 of them. Noida and Greater Noida sit almost on Braj's doorstep, at the very mouth of the Yamuna Expressway, so I welcome many working families who drive down for a single day of darshan. It is about the easiest run into Braj there is. Here is everything you need, told by someone who receives these travellers at the station and on the highway: the exact distances and routes both ways, the train and other options, the best way to travel, where to break the journey and the easy last leg into Vrindavan.

Noida to Vrindavan distance and driving routes

By road, the distance is around 138 km and the drive takes about 2 hours depending on the route and the traffic. The Yamuna Expressway is the clear spine of this journey, beginning right at Greater Noida and running smoothly almost to the Mathura and Vrindavan exit. There are three main ways.

The direct Yamuna Expressway route is the shortest and quickest and the one I recommend; the routes joining it via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway or Dadri Road are much the same, differing only in how you reach the expressway from your part of Noida. On the day, live traffic decides the smoothest line and a car that knows the road picks it; our Mathura Vrindavan taxi service can carry you the whole way or meet you for the last leg.

Vrindavan to Noida distance (the return journey)

The road back is much the same, around 131 to 138 km, about 2 to 2.5 hours. If you are planning the reverse leg, from Braj back to Noida, these are the main routes.

Noida to Vrindavan by train

The train is a comfortable way to cover the distance, though Noida itself has limited long-distance rail. There is no railway station in Vrindavan large enough for most trains, so you travel to Mathura Junction, the main railhead for Braj and take a short drive on. From Mathura Junction, Vrindavan is only about 14 km, around 30 minutes by road and we can meet your train.

A few things worth knowing about the train:

  • Where to board: Noida has limited direct trains, so many travellers board from Delhi's stations, which have frequent services to Mathura Junction.

  • How long it takes: roughly 2 to 4 hours from Delhi depending on the service; the fast trains are quickest.

  • Book ahead: reserve your ticket to Mathura Junction in advance, especially in festival season, when seats go quickly.

  • The last leg: from Mathura Junction we carry you to Vrindavan and around the temples in the right order.

Noida to Vrindavan by air

For a journey this short, flying makes no sense at all. Noida sits near Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, but Vrindavan and Mathura have no airport of their own and the whole road trip is only about two hours. A car or train beats any flight many times over on this route. There is, however, good news on the horizon for Noida travellers.

  • Nearest major airport now: Delhi (Indira Gandhi International), about 150 km from Braj.

  • Coming soon: the new Noida International Airport at Jewar sits right on the Yamuna Expressway, very close to Braj and will make the region even easier to reach once fully operational.

  • Delhi to Mathura/Vrindavan: about 3 to 3.5 hours by road on the Yamuna Expressway.

  • Our honest view: from Noida, simply drive or take a train from Delhi; there is no case for flying.

Noida to Vrindavan by bus

Buses are the budget option. State and private buses run from the NCR toward Mathura, from where a short local ride brings you to Vrindavan; the whole journey takes around 3 to 5 hours. It is cheaper than a car but a little longer and less comfortable and best suited to those travelling light and on a tight budget.

Which is the best way to travel?

The right choice depends on your time, budget and comfort. In short: a private car is the most flexible and the fastest on this short route, taking you door to door; a train via Delhi to Mathura is a comfortable, good-value alternative; flying is out of the question; and the bus is the cheapest but the slowest. The table sets them side by side.

A quick comparison. On this short route a private car is both the fastest and the most comfortable; the train via Delhi is the value pick.

Breaking the journey: Lucknow and Agra

The drive is so short that it needs no real break, but the Yamuna Expressway has clean, modern rest stops with food courts and fuel if you would like a chai or a stretch. The one thing worth planning is simply the start: leaving Noida before the morning rush and joining the expressway at Greater Noida, keeps the whole journey smooth and quick from the first mile to Braj.

What to see when you arrive

Once in Vrindavan, the darshans begin. The most beloved is the Banke Bihari temple, best seen early in the cool morning and the grand Prem Mandir with its evening light show. Add ISKCON Vrindavan for its continuous kirtan and in nearby Mathura the Krishna Janmabhoomi, the very birthplace of the Lord. Because the drive is so quick, you can leave Noida at dawn and be at darshan by mid-morning.

Best time to make the trip

The cool months of October to March are much the best for the journey and for Braj itself, pleasant on the road and at the temples, while the summer of April to June is very hot. If you travel in the festival season, around Janmashtami, Radhashtami, Diwali or Holi, expect the town to be joyful but crowded and book ahead. See our best time to visit Mathura Vrindavan guide for the seasons in full.

Tips for the journey

  • Leave Noida before the morning rush to clear the city quickly and reach for the morning darshan.

  • Join the Yamuna Expressway at Greater Noida; it runs almost the whole way to Braj.

  • The direct expressway route is fastest; keep an eye on live traffic conditions.

  • For the train, board from Delhi to Mathura Junction and book ahead in festival season.

  • Being so close, an early start lets you comfortably do darshan and return the same day.

The honest bit

Honest words on the Noida to Vrindavan journey, from one born in Braj. This is about the easiest run into Braj there is, a couple of hours straight down the Yamuna Expressway, well within a single day's outing. The distances and times here are approximate and shift with traffic and on this route the only real variable is clearing Noida cleanly before the rush. For the last leg and once you are here, a car that knows the town saves you time and touts; if you would rather stay the night and take it slowly, see our Mathura Vrindavan hotels. Plan the early start well and the darshan at the end is worth every mile.

Why Experience My India is the right choice

I was born in Gokul in the Mathura district and I welcome travellers from Noida and the whole NCR every week. Guiding since 2018, more than 50,000 pilgrims, 4.5 stars on Google, WhatsApp first, 8 AM to 9 PM daily. Whether you drive or train in, we meet you at Mathura Junction, Delhi or your doorstep, carry you around the temples in the right order and, if you wish, add Agra and the Taj to the day, with the stories told on the ground and no touts. One clear fare and never a charge for free darshan.

Tip from Gurudutt: being so close, Vrindavan is the perfect one-day reset from the Noida routine. Leave by six or seven, take darshan of Banke Bihari before the midday closing, have your prasad and a quiet walk by the Yamuna, watch Prem Mandir light up in the evening and drive home the same night. A whole pilgrimage in a single unhurried day and back before work.

"“We booked a Mathura Vrindavan same day tour with Experience My India after reading this guide. Since we were travelling from Noida, the team suggested an early start on the Yamuna Expressway. The cab arrived on time, was clean and comfortable, and the driver knew the Vrindavan routes well. We covered Banke Bihari, ISKCON and Prem Mandir comfortably and returned to Noida the same day.”"

If you prefer the train, direct services run to Mathura Junction, the railhead, taking about 31 to 42 hours over two nights; the fastest is the Rajdhani and the Karnataka Express runs daily in about 35 hours. To visit Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan, plan two to three days and travel the Yamuna Expressway from Delhi.
