The honest bit
Honest words on the Bhopal to Vrindavan journey, from one born in Braj. Let me be plain: this is a long trip, about 600 km and 12 hours or more by road, so please do not try to drive it in one stretch. For most travellers from Bhopal, flying to Delhi and driving on or taking an overnight train, is far easier and often no dearer once you count the fuel, the tolls and the strain of such a long drive. If you do drive, break it overnight, ideally at Gwalior and share the wheel. Distances and times are approximate and shift with traffic. For the last leg and once you are here, a car that knows the town saves you time and touts; if you would rather break the journey or stay the night, an early booking secures a good stay.
