Famous birthplace and city temples

At the heart of Mathura is the Krishna Janmabhoomi, the very birthplace of Krishna in the prison of Kansa, the most famous and sacred place of the land. Beside it stands the grand Dwarkadhish temple, the great city temple of 1814, the epicenter of Mathura's festivals. Famous temples of Vrindavan

Just 14 km from Mathura, Vrindavan, the town of Krishna's childhood, holds the most famous temples of Braj: the beloved Banke Bihari temple, the cherished deity of Vrindavan; the magnificent marble Prem Mandir with its evening light show; the world-famous ISKCON Krishna-Balaram temple; and the mysterious grove of Nidhivan, where the Raas is said to be danced each night.
